Whether it’s losing weight, building muscle, mastering the art of Muay Thai or becoming an amateur or skilled boxer, group classes will always deliver advantages to working with a team around you.
All the classes at Kombat Group are high intensity and designed to build muscle and burn fat, whether it’s functional training, boxing or Muay Thai. Of course, the number of calories a person will burn depends on several variables, including body weight and genetics; but a good rule of thumb is that the more intense the workout, the more calories you’ll burn.
According to Livestrong.com, “high-intensity classes can burn between 420 and 630 calories for a person weighing 125 pounds, between 520 and 782 calories for a person weighing 155 pounds, and 622 to 932 calories for a person weighing 185 pounds”.
Group classes tend to be much more intense, because you’re always being challenged to work harder by others around you, including your trainer. And if you’re motivated and determined to reach your fitness goals, you will naturally challenge yourself to keep up with the rest of the class.

But sometimes it’s hard to go to training when your muscles are aching, it’s 30 degrees outside and you just feel like staying in bed watching Netflix. However, the friendships you make at the camp will motivate you to get up and get ready for the sessions each day, without fail.

Lainey’s Success Story
Our Irish weight-loss guest, Lainey, kept track of how many hours of boxing and functional training she completed during her first month and was seriously shocked at the result. Over the course of 25 days of training, she didn’t miss one day of classes, and as a result, has now completed 43 hours of boxing and 840 minutes of high-intensity functional training. After counting the hours of training, she had tackled, Lainey said:
