I hope you will also overcome any fear or hesitation you may have and just go. I promise you will not regret it.

None of the other people that I met in the camp and that fought for the same goals did either, and I saw their progress and their wins and we shared our success together.

You will come back home a new person inside and out. Guaranteed.

The most important thing you need to know about me is that I was very scared to come to the camp.
For two reasons:

1. I was afraid of being in a new environment and so far away from home and the people there not accepting me

2. I was very afraid of failing. Of not being able to do the physical exercise. Of leaving on day two.

I emailed with Christian months before my actual arrival. Fear was bigger than my courage for a long time. During the 5 months of procrastination I gained more weight, to the point where I was ashamed of myself so much that I would almost stop going out and be a prisoner in my body and my flat. I knew I had to do something before I would eat my way to an early death.

I finally worked up the courage and went. Scared all the way. I never did any sports, couldn’t do one push up, could not walk one flight of stair without being completely out of breath. Yes, it was that bad.

But when I got to the camp, within 24 hours I knew I had made the best decision for myself, I could.

1. everyone was really nice and supportive. I cannot stress enough what difference people make just by being kind and understanding. Barbara, Erika, Christian, Gerry, everyone I met on my first day there made sure I felt as relaxed as possible and kept giving me encouraging advice and were literally always here for me, day and night and always ready to listen to any of my concerns or answer my questions.

2. The training was hard, but only as hard as you personally can take. What I loved about the camp most is that every teacher was able to recognize your own abilities and push you only to your own limits. So even at a class with people much more fit than myself, Barbara was able to have an individual approach to each one of us and ensured we were all doing our best even if that meant working out on different levels. The same was in Krav Maga with Gerry, or Muay-Thai with Apichai.  And I really appreciated that.

I started losing weight immediately, and could physically see results in one week already. I could put on clothes that did not fit before so fast, I could not believe it. My physical endurance went up fast as well.

I never felt hungry, on contrary, sometimes I could not even finish all the food. And the food there is good too, and again everyone who cooks for you is kind and able enough to adjust to your personal preferences if reasonable. You do not have to be afraid of starving, plus in my case I did not even have sugar cravings, maybe result of the protein-high diet? Whatever it was, it worked.

I would have stayed for longer than 8 weeks if I could but eventually I had to return to work. I lost almost 20 kilos in 8 weeks, and that included one week of fighting with flu and no exercise. And yes, there is good medical care available and all the comforts one may need even when sick. The camp always felt very safe, and extremely friendly place to be even for a women. I got lots of support from the other fighters, went to see professional fights and made friends among the teachers as well as other clients.

Do I regret anything? If I had to say one thing it would be: Not having gone sooner. Postponing my trip, out of fear. But I know better now and am able to apply the change in my mind set in my life now as well, which is a great win for me.

And the best part? Now it is almost 4 weeks since I left the camp. And not only I am not gaining any weight, even though I do not have all the training (4-6 hours a day, but yes, you CAN do it and yes it CAN be fun even if you are as big as me, do not worry.) as in the camp, I am even losing some. Slowly now, only 1 kilo in 1 month, but it is still happening.

Life is much easier now and I cannot thank everyone at the camp enough.

I hope you will also overcome any fear of hesitation you may have and just go. I promise you will not regret it. None of the other people that I met in the camp and that fought for the same goals did either, and I saw their progress and their wins and we shared our success together. You will come back home new person inside out. Guaranteed.

My final advice for the life at the camp? Take it day by day and enjoy your Sundays (day off from work out and diet), and relax when you are supposed to, and take a few trips around on your off days to explore, and you will have a wonderful vacation whilst you are changing your life.
